Make some delicious christmas cookies: a date and a place! Shortbread, pretzels, stars, macaroons, “tuiles”, spritz, meringues, checkerboards: with so many recipes to choose from, which one will we make? We listen to the directions and follow the steps to a T.
It takes a lot of work, but time flies when you're having fun, and the bredeles are quickly ready to go into the oven. We grab a hot drink in the tearoom while a buttery aroma fills the bakery.
Visit the museum
In the old stove of the baker's federation dating back to 1522, Alsace's Maison du Pain presents the history of bread: agriculture, milling, bakers of yesteryear, and more.
Can we see collectables? Of course. And learn about the ancestral know-how of bakers? That's the whole point of the visit! Take a tour of Alsatian specialties? Definitely!

The Maison du Pain is also the perfect spot to take a break from Christmas shopping or from visiting Sélestat. Warm up with a coffee or tea and savour delicious products straight from the oven.
