Oyez, oyez, let the festivities begin!
In Ribeauvillé, dancers, street entertainers, acrobats, jugglers and even fire eaters invite you to experience an unrivalled magical Christmas!
Here the Christmas market is a live show! There are things happening everywhere on the streets, and you will be plunged into a bygone world, as if you had taken trip back in time. From square to square, musicians and performers beat out the time and invite you into the dance. A few notes of music, a few steps and you’ll soon be carried away in a joyful dance.
But it is when night falls that Ribeauvillé really reveals all its magic. Strange creatures, straight out of myths and legends, emerge to roam the streets, allowing the curious to gaze and a few bold souls to photograph them. In the winter chill, jugglers and fire-eaters draw you in a whirl of light and flames. An explosive spectacle that will have you on tenterhooks!
Fall under the spell of the medieval town
An Alsatian Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to Ribeauvillé Christmas market, with its winning original, authentic appeal. The decorations shimmer, the half-timbered buildings provide an ideal backdrop for the festivities and it’s impossible to resist the urge to stroll through the picturesque streets.
Meet the stallholders in their period costumes and pick out your favourite craft items from the treasures on their sublimely decorated stalls.
And food lovers don’t miss the medieval specialities! The aromas of wild boar roasting on the spit and slowly simmering soups only enhance the medieval atmosphere. Enjoy them with a mug of cervoise or mulled wine, or a freshly apple juice for the young ones.Discover the Christmas market
