Day 1: Strasbourg from the river

Begin by admiring the cathedral and visiting the Christmas market before taking your place aboard the Batorama to see Strasbourg from a different angle. It’s a great way to explore the city and relax at the same time! Listen to the Christmas fairytale and enjoy the views. Time seems to stand still as you soak up the city’s magical Advent atmosphere. Next stop Gertwiller!

Day 2: Gertwiller, the Palace of Gingerbread

The Palace of Gingerbread is an enchanting destination, with scenery straight out of Hansel and Gretel. It offers an interactive visit, a gingerbread decorating workshop and of course a chance to tour the factory. In total, 800 square meters are dedicated to one of Alsace’s favourite Christmas treats. With the scenery, delicious scents and tasting, there’s so much to take in. But make sure you keep some energy for the evening’s concert!

Children’s choirs on the river in Colmar

This time, stand on the banks and bridges to hear children’s choirs singing from the water in Colmar’s Little Venice. It’s a stunning scene. Listen out for the traditional Christmas favourites, beautifully performed by the youth choirs. As you watch with your family, you’ll be making memories to look back on every year. And there are more treats in store: tomorrow, you’ll be heading for the reindeer farm! All together now, “Jingle bells, jingle bells...”!

Day 3: meet the reindeer in Stosswihr

Dress up warmly to visit this farm education centre with a difference, set at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres. Following the fun trail through the forest where the reindeer wander freely is a fantastic experience. Next, visit the little museum about the Samis, Lapland’s reindeer herders. The suspense builds until you find yourself in Santa’s grotto. It’s a dream come true! Top tip: make sure you arrive in time to see the animals being fed

This really is an afternoon to remember, not least thanks to the beautiful Alsace mountain scenery. The children are already clamouring to come back next year. Christmas is magical in Alsace!

If you have a little time to spare, stop off at the Enchanted Forest in Altkirch. There you’ll find 200 characters from fairytales and legends, set against backdrops and illuminated. It’s a thoroughly magical and highly original place to visit!
