Noëlies Concert : ensemble Céladon
" Discover the Céladon ensemble through the enchanting echoes of early music: "Stella Orientalis", a multilingual journey to the heart of 16th-century Christmas carols, offering a Nativity and Epiphany full of charm and diversity. "
Borrowing its name from the hero of Honoré d'Urfé's Astrée, the ensemble Céladon explores the heritage of early music with charm and fantasy, seeking to reinvent the form of its concerts at each of its events. For Christmas, it has chosen to perform "Stella Orientalis", "Nativities in the Renaissance", which sets the tone for a European Nativity and Epiphany, in a multilingual tour of 16th-century Christmas carols from England, Portugal, Italy, France and Poland. Between joy, contemplation and naivety, this programme brings together some of the great names of Renaissance music (Praetorius, Ortiz, Del Encina) and works of more popular origin, some of which are still played and sung today at Christmas time.
