The old forest shelter houses a new-style exhibition for children. Taking "learning by playing" as its motto, it presents the world of woods and rocks in terms that 4-12 year-olds can follow. With surprises round every corner, there's plenty to see - and do. Hanging head-down like a bat, crawling into a badger's den, building a well, pushing a trolley-load of minerals, learning how to recognise trees and tell their age, track animals, understand the seasons, identify birds by their songs - these are just some of the activities that help to make learning fun.
